Biography
Naween Noppakun is an audiovisual-artisan with a background in music and sound design.
He was well recognized as a founding member of Sweet Mullet – one of the most influential Thai rock bands in 2000s – with sensational hit single “Tob (2004)” in which he co-wrote.
After working briefly on sound design for visual media, he fell in love with cinema and switched his artistic approach to filmmaking. His first two short films – When Her Light is Extinguished (2012) and We Love Me (2017) – have won international awards in different continents and screened at film and video art festivals all over the world.
Supported by The Ministry of Culture, his third short – Crazy Lotus (2024) – was selected for project development in the Berlinale Short Form Station 2020 and had its world premiere at the IFFR 2024 where it received the Tiger Short Award.
